Xinmin Grade 6

 Today we started the vocabulary for the new unit. Tonight's homework is to write the nine words we covered in class 5x each, write the definition, and write a sentence for each word. They also have to do page 282 in RWN.

 Today we had the unit test for Exploding Ants. They will be returned next week. This weekend's homework is write a non-fiction entry in their journal, at least 250 words.

 Today we finished with the vocabulary and worked on some skills that the students need practice with. Tonight's homework is write words 17-25 5x each, write the definitions, and write a sentence for each word. The Unit test is tomorrow. The students need to be familiar with the vocabulary, story, grammar, and skills from the past two weeks.

In class we continued with the new vocabulary and reviewed possessive pronouns.  Tonight's homework is to write words 9-16 5x each, write the definition for each word, and write a sentence for each word. They also need  to do page 272 in RWN.

 Today we started on this week's vocabulary, and then worked with possessive pronouns, this unit's grammar focus. Tonight's homework is to write words 1-8 6x each, write the definition, and write a sentence for each word.

 Today we took the first quiz and started reading the new unit. The quizzes were returned today, please sign and return them on Monday. This weekend's homework is to correct the written exam, correct the quiz, and do the reading worksheet about Exploding Ants.  Today we went over the written exam. The exam was returned today; please sign it and return it tomorrow. We reviewed the spelling words as well. Tomorrow's quiz will be on the vocabulary from this week and on the spelling words. The spelling words are on page 273 of the RWN. Tonight's homework is to redo page 275, and do pages 273 and 278 in RWN.

 Today we had science class in the morning and our regular English class. In the afternoon we went on a field trip to the National Taiwan Museum, where the students learned about the camphor industry, and learned about sustainable food practices. Tonight's homework is to write the vocabulary words 17-25 6x each, and write the definition for each word as well as write a sentence for each word.

 Today we continued with the new vocabulary, and started the reading strategies for the unit. Tonight's homework is to write words 8-16 f5x each, write the definition for each word, and write a sentence for each word. The students also have to pages 269 and 275 in the RWN. 

 Today we started the new unit, Exploding Ants. We introduced the vocabulary and reviewed the weekend homework. Tonight's homework is to write vocabulary words1-8. Students who were late handing in homework, or who didn't do the homework, have to write the words 10x each. The other students have to write the words 4x each. They also have to write a sentence and the definition for each word.

Today we reviewed common problems with English in class, and how to fix them. There is no homework tonight so they can have more time to study for the exams tomorrow.

 Today we did not have levelled class or Science Class because of the exams. In the afternoon for experience class we did an experiment with blubber gloves, to show how animals adapt and insulate themselves in cold environments.

 Today we reviewed for tomorrow's Written Exam.  Tonight's homework is to study for the exam. Please hand in the RWN tomorrow after the exam so it can be checked.

 Today we finished the oral exams. All exams will be returned after the students have finished the exam period. This weekend's homework is to study for the written exam next week. The students should know the vocabulary, what we have covered in RWN, and the stories.

 Today we started the the Oral Test. Not every student finished, so we will continue and finish tomorrow. The students who didn't take the test today should review the two stories tonight; the students who already finished the test do not have homework tonight.

 Today in Zero period we had the listening exam instead of science class. In A1, the students reviewed for the oral exam. They will have to prepare summaries of the two stories we have read so far, Weslandia and Tripping Over the Lunch Lady. On the day of the test, one will be chosen, and every student who goes that day will have to give their summary.

 Today we reviewed for the listening exam. The exam will be held tomorrow morning during 0 period in homerooms.  Tonight's homework is to review for the exams.

 Today we went over the test from last Friday. The class average was 84. Please sign the tests and return them tomorrow. Tonight's homework is to correct the tests. The students have to rewrite each mistake two times. Do not erase the mistakes.
