  Today we took the Unit Test for Tripping Over the Lunch Lady. The exams start next week; the exam scope was sent home today. The tests that were handed in to me have been returned. This weekend's homework is to write a 300 word non-fiction entry in their journal. It can be about anything, not just about their weekend.

 Today we finished the vocabulary, finished the story, and went over pronouns and antecedents, and reviewed generalizations. Tonight's homework is to write words 17-25 five times, write a sentence and the definition for each word, and to finish RWN pages 258, 261, and 268. The unit test is tomorrow; it will cover vocabulary from last week and this week, the unit grammar, reading strategies, and questions about the story.

 Today we continued reading and discussing the story, and worked on the vocabulary. There is no class tomorrow because of the field trip.  Tonight's homework is to correct the journal; each sentence with a mistake has to be rewritten one time. Vocabulary words 9-17 need to be written five times each, and write a sentence and the definition for each word. The homework can be handed in tomorrow or on Thursday.  Tonight's homework is to write words 1-8 5 times each, and write a sentence and the definition for each word. The students also have to write a generalization about Jinx, based only on what we have read so far in the story, Tripping Over the Lunch Lady.  The tests were returned today. Please sign them and send them back tomorrow. Tonight's homework is to correct the test, finish RWN pages 262 and 267, and study the vocabulary and spelling words for the quiz.

 We had a short class this morning due to the air raid drill and the earthquake drill. We finished the vocabulary for the unit.  Tonight's homework is to write words 18-25 5 times, write 1 sentence for each word, and write the definition for each word 1 time.

 Tonight's homework is to write words 10-17 5 times, write 1 sentence for each word, and write the definition for each word. Please do the Drawing Conclusions worksheet as well.

 Today we had the unit test for Weslandia.  This weekend's homework is to do page 248 in RWN, and write 300 words in the journal about anything that is non-fiction.

 Tonight's homework is to write words 17-25 five times each, and to write a sentence and the definition for each word. The students also need to do page 257 in RWN.  They should correct the RWN and vocabulary mistakes. we have the first test tomorrow; the students will have to know the definitions and usages of the 50 vocabulary words from the last two weeks, subject/object pronouns, drawing conclusions, and details from the story Weslandia.  Today we started to do the vocabulary for the second week, and we discussed subject and object pronouns. Tonight's homework is to write the first 8 words five times each, write the definition, and write a sentence for each word. Tomorrow for experience class, the students need to bring a shoebox, or a box that is similar in size to a shoe box.

 Today we had the first quiz. Tonight's homework is to correct the mistakes in RWN, correct the quiz, and do the subject/object pronoun review worksheet.

 Today we finished reading the new story Weslandia. The quiz will be on Monday. The students need to study the vocabulary words and the spelling words from week 1. The spelling words are on page 64 of the Communication Book if the students need a reference, and the vocabulary words are the 25 words selected from this unit's 40 words and covered in class. This weekend the students also need to do pages 249 and 256 in RWN. Happy Moon Festival!

 Today we had one class. We finished the vocabulary and started the new story, Weslandia. Tonight's homework is to write the new words five times each, write the definition for each word, and write a sentence for each word. Our quiz will be on Monday.

 Today we reviewed the homework, talked about the new vocabulary, and went over the spelling words.  Tonight's homework is to correct the worksheet, write vocabulary words 11-19 5 times each, write a sentence for each word, and write the definition for each word. If they did not finish RWN 251 in class, they need to finish it at home.

 Today we had one class. We went over the new proverb, introduced some of the vocabulary, and went over the homework. For homework tonight, the students have to fix their mistakes in RWN and their essay about their summer vacation, write vocabulary words 1-10 5 times, write the definition for each word, and write a sentence for each word. The definitions can be found in the back of the communication book.
